gorgeous, male friendly
My husband bought me this perfume as a mistake - I wanted Ralph by Ralph Lauren. What a mistake to make - I was immediately taken by how gorgeous it was. It has a light, but enduring scent, quite floral but more grassy than rosey !!! I have used it on many occasions, although I would say it`s more of a daytime perfume than a nightime. It`s not a high profile perfume, hence I had not heard of it before, but now all of my friends know it`s unique smell - even one of the Boden models said that this was her favourite perfume ! I now have the body lotion as well and will be putting this on the list for next Christmas.

Smells divine, fresh and light perfect for daytime
Right so here I am again, letting you know what I think of Acqua Di Gio Eau De Toilette this time. Any of you who have read my profile will know that I do adore my beauty/hair products and perfume! I am slowly working my way through all the things that I have tried, to be honest it should keep me busy for a while as there are quite a few of them lol
Acqua Di Gio was launched all the way back in 1995 and it still smells as fresh and new as it did back then. You know how some perfumes age over time and don`t seem to smell as good as you get older and your lifestyle changes, well I think this still suits me as much as it did the first ever time I tried it about 10 years ago.
Made my Georgio Armani as a lighter daytime option to his other perfumes I tried this after I had already tried another of his perfumes - Gio which was quite a strong smelling fragrance. This was much lighter and more suitable for wearing in the daytime. Advertised as an Oceanic floral fragrance for women that pretty much hits the nail on the head.
This comes in a glass frosted bottle in a square shape with the name of the front and a silver lid, it has a spray dispenser. The bottle looks pretty simple but also quite elegant and understated. The spray looks a pale greenish colour but when it is sprayed it is actually clear (how do they do that) so no worries about the perfume staining fabrics if sprayed near to collars etc.
As I always say it is pretty hard to describe a perfume to someone who has never smelt it but if I had to I would say imagine a garden filled with the freshest most aromatic flowers after a rainfall and you`d be pretty there. The perfume has sweet pea and jasmine in it so as you can imagine it does have floral notes to it. This is such a clean, fresh, feminine perfume that it is hard not to like it although if you don`t like perfumes towards the sweeter end of the scale then this may not be for you.
This is pretty long lasting for a daytime perfume. I can put some on just before I leave for work and then still smell it long into the afternoon.
Now you can buy this is various sizes starting at around £25 for a 30ml bottle of Eau De Toilette but shop around and you can save quite a bit on that price. I think I have seen this in Bodycare at about £17 for the 30ml size so that`s a saving of £8 for start and if you are anything like me I love saving money - well when you have such a severe addiction to products as I do saving money means you can buy yourself something else too!
You can also get a whole range of items perfumed with this fragrance including Body Lotion, Bath Gel, Deodorant spray. Check out Ebay for a good range of items available but if you want to go to a shop your best bet for the extended range is somewhere like Boots as they seem to stock more stuff than most places.
Now 2 tips for all you perfume lovers out there.
1. Don`t leave your perfumes on the bathroom shelf or on your dressing table, sunlight can affect the smell of perfume and the best way to store them is to keep in a cool, dark place. I keep mine in my wardrobe and they should last longer.
2. Don`t try new perfumes around the time of your period as the hormones can affect the smell of a fragrance on your skin. If you want to buy a new perfume they best thing to do is to try it 2 or 3 times throughout the course of a month this should give you a true idea if you really like the smell of the perfume.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice light, fresh smelling daytime perfume that will make them feel like they are walking in a flower garden in the middle of summer.
I have actually run out of this and I really want to buy some more but I am limiting myself for the time being as I have so much perfume to use up I really can`t justify buying another……can I?

pretty unique, fresh !
Okay, I admit, I didn`t really `need` a new perfume, as I already own too many to mention without it being embarrassing cause there are people going hungry in the world and I am obsessed with perfume, but I had to have it. I went down to the local cosmetics shop as they wanted to give me a Clinique lipstick for being such a good customer (perfume, anyone?) and the green box stared me down. It whispered to me, along with the huge tester bottle : Sarah, you know you want to spray me... I smell soooooo gooooood.... and I am a sucker, so I couldn`t resist. I did however only succumb to the smallest size, so I guess that`s forgiveable....I first came accross this scent when my good friend in high school had this sitting on her dresser in 1996. I thought it smelled super classy and yum. Anyway enough blabla, let us move on to the scent!*
~The packaging~
Acqua die Giò is available as an Eau de Toilette, and comes in a minty-green cardboard box. On the front of the box is written in dark green `Acqua di Giò, Giorgio Armani, Eau De Toilette Vaporisateur natural spray. The bottle design is quite simple, made of frosted glass, with the name of the fragrance once again written on the front in dark green lettering. The cap is a platic golden affair, so the overall look is simple chic. The sprayer is of gold coloured metal and delivers short bursts of fragrance. The fragrance itself is acqua green, but sprays clear.
~The fragrance experience~
Acqua di Giò starts off with a top note of fresh cut flowers (sweat pea smells sweetly rosy), with middle notes of oceanic freshness, or the smell of a freshly rained upon garden, and then ambery woody musky notes round up the base. Super feminine and a fragrance which is really hard not to like. Very luminous. The Armani description of this creation: "Acqua Di Gio was created by Giorgio Armani in 1995 and is recommended for casual wear. This feminine scent contains a blend of fresh floral, sweet pea, and jasmine." The first time I wore this to work, one of my coworkers almost drooled all over me and said `you smell amazing, what perfume is that?` and when I told him, he said he would buy one for his girlfriend, presumably so he could drool all over her ;)
I have the 35ml bottle of edt, but it is also available in 50ml and 100ml sizes. There is also shower gel, body lotion, and deodorant available if you want to splurge. I paid about £18 for my 35ml bottle, so it is pretty expensive.
~The smelly truth~
I love this fragrance in the summer as a classy change to my Cool Water Woman (Davidoff). It is a very distinctive scent and undeniably summery and feminine. It fits in with jeans and a tank or an elegant gown. I find it lasts all day if sprayed on the nape of the neck or on clothes. I find that it irritates my skin if I spray it on my neck (in front) or wrists :( Would be nice in winter too as a pick-me-up when I get sick of the endless grey days :) It is a nice everyday fragrance and I could easily see it being someone`s signature scent, but I am far too fickle for that ;) If you are looking for a fresh feminine scent which is very distinctive smelling, you should give it a try! As it irritates my skin, I can only give it four stars.
